Frequently asked questions

What does Approved Disputes actually do?
It's self-directed educational software that helps you review your credit report for potential inaccuracies, organize supporting documents, prepare personalized dispute correspondence, and track dispute activity round by round.
What does it not do?
It isn't a law firm, financial adviser, credit bureau, or government agency, and it doesn't provide legal or financial advice. It can't determine, on its own, whether an item on your report is actually inaccurate — that judgment is yours.
Are results guaranteed?
Approved Disputes does not guarantee deletions, credit-score increases, or any particular outcome. Accurate and current negative information generally cannot be removed. Results depend on each consumer's circumstances, supporting information, and the responses of credit reporting companies and data furnishers.
Can accurate information be removed?
Generally, no. The FCRA gives you the right to have inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information corrected — not the right to remove information that's accurate and current.
Where do I get my credit report?
You can get a free copy from each bureau at AnnualCreditReport.com, or from a credit-monitoring service you already use.
Does using this affect my credit score?
Uploading or reviewing your report doesn't affect your score. Disputing an item can affect your score if the bureau updates or removes it, but this varies by item and isn't guaranteed.
How are the letters created?
Letters are drafted with AI assistance, citing the specific FCRA basis for the dispute you selected (or Metro 2 field-level challenges on the Premium plan).
Do I review letters before they're sent?
Yes, always. You review the full letter, and you download and mail it yourself — nothing is sent automatically on your behalf.
What supporting evidence might help?
Proof of address, identification, payment records, or any documentation that supports why an item is inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable.
How long does a bureau have to respond?
Generally 30 days, or 45 days in some cases, under the FCRA. We track this window per dispute round and flag it once it's closed.
What happens after a bureau responds?
You log the outcome and, if the item wasn't corrected or removed, you can start the next escalating round of the dispute.
Is certified mail available, and does it cost extra?
In-app mailing isn't available yet. You print and mail the letter yourself; any certified-mail fee at your post office is your own cost, not ours.
How does pricing and renewal work?
Every plan is $1 for the first month, then renews monthly at the plan's regular price until you cancel. Full detail is on the Pricing page.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel future billing anytime from your account or PayPal. You also have a 3-business-day right to cancel the services agreement itself under CROA. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy for full detail.
How is my data kept secure?
Traffic is encrypted in transit, data is encrypted at rest with our database provider, and access is scoped per account with row-level security. Full detail is on the Security page.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes, anytime, from Settings → Danger zone. Your login and profile are deleted immediately; a minimal, de-identified record of any signed agreement or sent letters is retained where required for credit-repair recordkeeping.
Is support available?
Yes — email support@approveddisputes.com with any question.
Is this legal advice?
No. Approved Disputes is educational software, not a law firm, and nothing in the product is legal advice about your specific situation. If you need legal advice, consult a licensed attorney.
