The problem

Errors on credit reports are common and consequential. The Federal Trade Commission's congressionally mandated study found that roughly one in five consumers had a potentially material error on at least one of their three major credit reports, and about one in twenty had an error serious enough to affect the terms they were offered.

Fixing an error means writing to the right bureau or furnisher, citing the correct legal basis, tracking a 30–45 day response window, and often repeating the process across multiple rounds and all three bureaus — a process most consumers find confusing enough that they either give up or pay a traditional credit-repair company that may not be transparent about what it can and can't actually do.

The solution

Approved Disputes is a self-directed educational software platform that helps consumers review credit-report information for potential inaccuracies, organize supporting documents, prepare personalized dispute correspondence, and track dispute activity.

The product organizes report data, flags potentially disputable items using deterministic and AI-assisted detection, drafts personalized correspondence citing the relevant FCRA (or Metro 2) basis, and tracks every round — while keeping the consumer in control of every letter before it's downloaded or sent.

Consumer workflow

Import or add a credit report → review flagged items → choose a dispute basis → optionally attach documents → generate a draft letter → review and approve → download and mail it yourself → track the round.

Business model

Direct-to-consumer subscription SaaS, billed monthly through PayPal. Consistent with CROA, consumers are billed only after the corresponding work has been performed — no advance fees.

  • Starter: $1.00 first month, then $39.99/mo
  • Pro: $1.00 first month, then $69.99/mo
  • Premium: $1.00 first month, then $99.99/mo

Compliance-first approach

CROA and FCRA obligations are built into the product, not bolted on: a signed client agreement with the 3-business-day cancellation right, no-advance-fee billing, an append-only audit log, and consumer-controlled review before anything is sent. See our Security and Consumer Disclosure pages.

Differentiation

Most credit-repair businesses are service operations with limited software; most personal-finance software doesn't touch disputes at all. Approved Disputes is software-first and consumer-controlled — the workflow, not a caseworker, does the organizing, and every output is reviewed by the consumer before it leaves the platform.

Technology

Next.js (App Router) on Vercel, Postgres via Supabase with row-level security enforcing per-account isolation, and Anthropic for AI-assisted letter drafting. Full detail on the Security page.

Market expansion

Current focus is direct-to-consumer (B2C) self-serve. The underlying data model already supports a multi-tenant, white-label mode for reselling the platform to other credit repair businesses under their own brand (B2B) — deferred until the core consumer product is proven out.

Traction

Approved Disputes is in active development. [OWNER: Verified traction metrics (users, revenue, retention, etc.) will be published here once available — populate src/content/investor-metrics.ts with real, verifiable numbers rather than projections.]
